Hunt insignia: Poingdestre
This sterling silver badge has been commissioned to commemorate the Poingdestre family and is NOT available for general sale.
The Poingdestre family has a history that traces back to Britain's Norman past. The name is derived from the old French term "poing destre", which means "right fist" and could have been a nickname given to the progenitor of this family.
The family has been associated with the island of Jersey and Guernsey and there are records of landowners with that name going back to the year 1250. It has been speculated that members of this family moved to the USA in the 17th century with members arriving in Virginia around 1660.
This sterling silver badge was partially customized and gold-plated upon request.
